Fatigue and Sleep

It is common to feel tired, or even exhausted during pregnancy. Despite feeling fatigued, you may feel wakeful, having to visit the bathroom at night more than before pregnancy and may have active dreams that can rouse you from sleep. Learning to nap for a few minutes each day can make you feel better in pregnancy and prepare you for wakeful times meeting the demands of your baby's night feeding.  

As your pregnancy continues, muscle cramps, a hard mattress or even hunger may disrupt your sleep. Also, as the size of your abdomen increases, you may have trouble finding a comfortable position for long.
