Prenatal Classes
Prenatal classes are good opportunities to learn about what to expect during pregnancy, in childbirth and the beginning of parenthood. In many parts of Ontario, public health units and hospitals offer prenatal classes or there may be midwives, doulas, or other prenatal educators in your area. Classes are available in a variety of formats, including group, individual, in-person, and/or online.
Depending on the class, you may learn about your baby's development, preterm labour, relaxation techniques and variations in labour, breastfeeding and infant safety, among other topics. Partners are also welcome. Here we have provided some resources to help you find a prenatal class that suits your needs and is located in your area.
