Abortion
There are many possible reasons why you may consider interrupting your pregnancy. For example, it may not be the right time in your life to have a pregnancy, or there may be problems with your health, or the health of the baby.
While abortion is legal in Canada at any stage in the pregnancy, it is easier to access this service earlier in the pregnancy. Your options for stopping the pregnancy will depend on how far long you are, your health history, and the services available in your area. You may be offered a surgical procedure (done by a physician in a clinic or hospital) or medication to end the pregnancy.
You can find more information below about the different options for interrupting the pregnancy, how to find abortion services and resources for emotional support.
