Head

Your baby's head may have an odd shape because the bones of your baby's skull are soft and flexible to allow for movement through the pelvis and birth canal. Your baby's head can "mold" during birth and appear cone-shaped or pointed. Your baby can also develop a flat spot from sleeping on their back (important for reducing the risk of SIDS). Your baby will also have two soft spots on their head - these are called "fontanelles" and will disappear as the bones of your baby's skull fuse over time. Read the links below to learn more about your baby's head shape and preventing flat spots.
