Province’s historic agreement will attract and retain more family doctors across the province.

Investment will add nearly 1,800 health-care workers to primary care teams as part of Ontario’s $2.1 billion Primary Care Action Plan.

Starting December 19, 2025, changes to the Laboratory Specimen Collection Centre Licensing Act (LSCCLA) allow midwives in Ontario to order publicly funded Non-invasive Prenatal Testing (NIPT) for pregnant individuals who meet Category I criteria.
